v6.8 Freeview Playback Group 2 software for T816 based PVRs
===========================================================
This software was developed by Vestel and was never officially released,
partly because of its problems and also because development switched to
the newer T825 models instead. As such, Vestel will not be able to
offer support to users of v6.8.

This software update may not be to everybody's liking and is pretty
unstable compared to previous versions - you will regularly need to
reboot the box, often by pulling the plug, depending on how many
timers that you set. However, if you don't like it you can always
downgrade back to v3.7. Sharp TU-160HA users who are already running
v6.7 should not upgrade as v6.7 does not offer any significent
improvements over v6.7 and you will not be able to revert to v6.7
should you wish.

Here is a summary of feature differences compared to v3.7:

Pros

- Series record
- 30 second skip buttons return (in addition to the 2 minute skip buttons)
- The tag/archiving function is now working again
- Alternative programme choices when setting clashing timers
- The default confirmation choice when deleting recordings in now "No"

Cons

- User interface speed appears to gradually deteriotes (reboot fixes)
- Often the box will fail to respond to user input at all, requiring
the plug to be pulled to fix
- HDD keeps spinning up at various times, presumably detecting EPG
  changes and changing/adding timers
- If you watch and delete a programme, any following repeat will be
recorded (even when not using series record)
- The function of the PR +/- buttons has been reversed in the EPG,
  library and timer screens
- Once a one-off timer has been set via the EPG, it cannot be changed
  from Event to Time mode
- No sound when the EPG is open (although you can press mute twice to
bring it back), which is presumably to hide the terrible audio
stuttering, which I believe the Sharp owners mentioned regarding v6.7
- The timer list is not sorted by the order that you set the timer,
  and not start time
- Series record:
+ Timers can get confused - e.g. I had two identical timers listed
for "Without a Trace" on More4
+ Timers can be requested to be set on Five US and FIVER, but no
     programmes are recorded
+ Not available at all on some channels, Virgin 1, for example -
     presumably broadcaster related
